Performance test requirements in VW Wolfsburg fulfilled at more than 100%

17.January 2011
After 20 years, robotic production on DL1 line in VW Wolfsburg, Germany, came to stop on 15th January 2011. The production was to end under the condition that atx carries out a performance-related test of the newly automated transport technology for the painting line. With a few minor defects, 102 bodyworks were painted and the test requirements were met at more than 100% during the Saturday morning. The managing director would like to thank to all who took part in the project, particularly then to Mr. Janů, Mr. Ptáček and Mr. Štěrba who helped with solving the problems that occurred during the commissioning.

The second stage of the line reconstruction, i. e. replacing the current outdated robots by new ABB technology, will start on 21st January 2011. If everything goes well, atx will have plenty of work in Wolfsburg until the end of this year, specifically the reconstruction of control systems and installation of new ABB painting robots on four other lines.
