29.July 2010
Volkswagen Up! is a small three-door five-seater that will be manufactured by Volkswagen in Bratislava as the Lupo II. The name of the design is made of the middle two letters from the word Lupo. The concern this way introduces a new type of a car called new-small-family. The VW factory in Bratislava is one of the three VW factories on three different continents, at which atx – automation works. The other two are Pune in India and Chattanooga in the USA.

It was the delivery of this electrical system for the new VW Slovakia paintshop in Bratislava that meant a significant step for manufacturing in Žďár nad Sázavou. In the presence of the representatives of VW Slovakia, VW Wolfsurg, TPH Transystem and our specialists there was a preliminary quality inspection of control cabinets for the conveyor system lines. The control cabinets have been accepted without any major objections and the manufacturing of control cabinets for the other lines can begin now. First deliveries directly to the assembly site will take place in the first half of September.
